The beloved Beatrix Potter tale returns to Cape Town to delight little ones’ imaginations over the Easter school holidays
At wit’s end to find something for the kids to check out over the Easter weekend and school holidays? Breathe a sigh of relief, parents: Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail are back to entertain little ones as part ofStagecraft Drama Studio’s classic The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which hits the Artscape Theatre Foyer from Thursday, 2 to Saturday, 11 April 2015.
For those not in the know, the Beatrix Potter children’s favourite tells the story of Mrs Rabbit, who resides underneath the roots of a very big fir-tree. In her humble abode, Mrs Rabbit takes care of her four little children, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-Tail and, of course, Peter Rabbit!
As the story goes, the curious rabbits were always entranced by their neighbor, Mr McGregor, who grew carrots, radishes and lettuce in his garden. But the garden was declared strictly out of bounds by Mrs Rabbit as the young bunnies’ father had had an ‘accident’ there.
Of course, the curious Peter decided to explore the garden and encountered the scary Mr McGregor.
Come and join in the fun and find out how Peter Rabbit escapes from Mr McGregor’s clutches. This year, there will be a dress up special for the Saturday, 4 April, so don’t forget to don your best flopsy bunny costumes!
The Tale of Peter Rabbit is adapted by Dudley Glass and directed by Cheryl Abromowitz.
