#Pickoftheweek: Open Streets City Centre
After its success in Langa and Bellville, Open Streets is back this Sunday, 15 January 2017 for its city centre edition. Open Streets is a community initiative aimed at imagining a car-free environment and also exploring other travel options. Attendees will be able to freely walk and participate in physical and cultural activities in Bree and Longmarket Street sans cars. It’s a great way to explore and experience the abundance of creative talent in the city with an array of activities and showcases happening throughout the event.

2. The Terracotta Army And The First Emperor of China Exhibition
The Watershed at the V&A Waterfront will host The Terracotta Army and the First Emperor of China Exhibition until Sunday, 12 February 2017. The display is a riveting look into the burial of the Chinese emperor and a look into the ancient civilisation. This interactive exhibition is a perfect learning experience for the whole family. 3. Goodnight Wembley Reunion Show.
Local favorite rock band Goodnight Wembley return this Friday, 13 January 2017 for a reunion show set to rock the city. The band, which comprises of five dedicated musicians, is set to take the stage in all their former glory along with local supporting acts Stoker and The Dirty South. Tickets will be available at the door, so make sure you get there early.

4. A New Step Fun Run/Walk
The Mother City gets treated to yet another fun run/walk this weekend. A New Step Fun Run/Walk is a 5-km race that is suitable for all ages and all fitness levels, which ensures fun for all. Happening at Dolphin Beach this Saturday, 14 January 2017, the objective is to fund a prosthetic leg for a worthy candidate, with the long-term objective of providing for more beneficiaries.
